Halloween-The Avatar Gang

I promised the girls I would make them bending costumes for Halloween before I realized it would fall on a Sunday. The costumes were way too much work to just be worn once to our church party, but, luckily, Sage had a school party. Also, they have wanted to wear the costumes every day since.

Halloween-Aang

made from Kona cotton, Scientific Seamstress Easy Fit Pants pattern, and own designs

Halloween-Toph

made from Kona cotton, Scientific Seamstress Easy Fit Pants pattern (shortened and added elastic hem), Habitual Kimono tutorial, and Little Lizard King Vest pattern (unlined, lengthened, added collar, extended center placket, and left side seams unconnected); accessories from own design

Halloween-Katara

made with Kona cotton and Habitual Kimono tutorial (lengthened and added side vents); completely made up (and botched) the water bending bag

Halloween-Girl Zuko

made with Kona cotton, Habitual Kimono tutorial, Scientific Seamstress Easy Fit Pants pattern, and Little Lizard King vest pattern (unlined and lengthened)

Ruffle Dress Pattern Test for Little Lizard King

really cute result; made from seersucker yardage

Vest Pattern Test for Little Lizard King

very simple pattern; made of bandannas, part of an old sheet (I ran out of bandannas), and pearl buttons; for Sage's Red Ribbon Week--Western Day

Jegging Pattern Test for Dear My Kids

very well done pattern; made of thick tubular double knit yardage; size 7 was a little large for Sage, even thought that's where her measurements put her

Legging Pattern Test for Whimsy Couture

great pattern; very similar to LBB leggings; made of knit yardage

upcycled pocket t-shirt

Rane's Birthday Dress

made from knit yardage and a mash-up of different patterns with too many modifications to be recognizable; one of my favorite creations thus far

Twirl Skirts for Chessa Jean and Zipporah

made from yardage and LBB Twirl Skirt pattern (much better than my own); found transfers I made 2 years ago, and they yellowed slightly when ironed

Birthday Dress for Katy

made from recycled knits and yardage; modified LBB Hoodie to make a racerback pattern and left off arms; same issue with the main piece gathering when I attach a gathered or ruffled piece to it (very frustrating)

***have since figured out to loosen presser foot pressure to eliminate waves and gathers...AWESOME***

Skirts for Zipporah's Birthday

Market Skirt and cotton shirting; side note: Kona cotton rocks

Muggle Dresses for the Girls

LBB Sienna, upcycled $3 t-shirts, and knit yardage

Twirl Dresses for the Girls

modified LBB Sienna to give a twirl skirt; added too much width to the bottom, so it falls asymmetrically; next time, I won't widen the bodice to match up with the twirl

Romper for Hannah

pattern testing for Whimsy Couture; easiest thing I've sewn yet

Twirl Skirts for the Girls

from own pattern; added ruffle to hide unfinished hem; had issues attaching ruffle (skirt kept gathering under the ruffle)

Recycled T-Shirt Dress for Sage

made from recycled t-shirts and LBB Sienna pattern; fixed stretched neckline by not using stretch fabrics on bodice and arms; used 3/4 formula for neck and arm band length

shirts made from wal-mart wrinkle free remnants; fabric was thick and okay to sew but not so wrinkle free; pretty billowy, should maybe add bodice shirring

Bubble Skirts for the Girls

bubble skirts with sashes and grosgrain belt loops

Recycled Shirt Dress for Rane

made from recycled dress shirt and Sweet Dress pattern; 2T is too short

Recycled Shirt Dress for Jade

made from recycled dress shirt and sweet dress pattern; 5T size because arms were too small on Sage

Recycled Shirt Dress for Sage

made from recycled dress shirt and Sweet Dress pattern; added pockets and covered buttons; elastic in arms needed lengthening

Recycled Twirl Skirt for Jade

made from reused tshirts with corrected waistband size
